Why we switched from our heart shaped wax melts to our clamshells

Many of you have wondered why we switched from our boxes of 12 heart shaped melts to our clamshell bars.

Well there were a number of reasons firstly Mr Wonkies health is of paramount importance to us and he was really struggling with his back as he has scoliosis in his spine, and pouring that many hearts was taking its toll.

Also his eyesight. The amount of concentration it took to pour the small hear moulds was getting too much for him.

Price and productivity also had to come into it. It’s a very labour intensive process to make the hearts and we just couldn’t sustain the price they were selling at. Whereas the clamshells are better value for you due to the lower labour hours needed to make one.

Finally and something that is very close to our hearts, believe it or not the clamshell packaging is better for the environment than our heart boxes. This is because the plastic clams are fully recyclable and made from 85% recycled plastic. Whereas our bubble wrap and Sellotape in the boxes was not made from recycled material nor was it recyclable. So whilst on the face of it the new clamshells may seem worse for the environment we promise you they are not.
