About Us
My name is PJ. I live with multiple medical conditions including Autism, deafness, blindness, epilepsy and more — so, all in all, I am rather WONKY.
Wonky World started back in 2018 during a holiday in the Lake District, where I made a candle for the very first time. I loved it so much that I convinced my mum to let me make more when we got home. I gave a few candles to friends and family, and before long they were encouraging me to start selling them.
That’s where the Wonky journey began.
What started as a small hobby quickly grew into something much bigger. We have had to upscale production TWICE! With the help of Minion 1 (Mum) and Minion 2 (Sophie), my mum’s kitchen became candle-making headquarters. Eventually we completely outgrew the kitchen and needed even more space.
My brother Tom (Big Wonky) then joined the team, and now we have our very own Wonky World unit where we create, pack and post all of our products.
Since then, Wonky World has grown into far more than just a business. It has become a place that creates real opportunities for SEN children and young adults.
Through our workshops, work experience placements and supported opportunities, we help young people build confidence, learn practical business skills and gain valuable real-life experience in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
From making products and packing orders to learning teamwork, communication and responsibility, we want every young person involved to feel proud, capable and valued.
Most importantly, every single purchase helps make this possible.
All profits made through Wonky World are reinvested directly back into running and growing these programmes, allowing us to continue supporting SEN children and young adults with meaningful opportunities, experiences and skills for the future.
It has been an amazing adventure so far, and every order truly means the world to us.
Thank you for being part of Wonky World.
